Red Bud Isle is a 13 acre off-leash dog park situated on a peninsula surrounded by Lady Bird Lake. The park is part of the Austin Parks & Recreation Department’s Lady Bird Lake Corridor system of parks and is located within the West Austin Neighborhood Group.
Friends of Red Bud Isle was formed in April 2007 at an Austin Parks Foundation “It’s My Park Day” event by Bern Abplanalp & Nadene Morning.
The volunteer group works with the Austin Parks & Recreation Department, Austin Parks Foundation and others to continually improve Austin’s Best Dog Park!

Austin Parks & Recreation included Red Bud Isle in their request for funding in the proposed bond issue later this year. This is proposal did not make the last round of cuts.
